Vishal Imposes His Superstition On Shahid, Kangana, Saif

Our B-towners can be a superstitious lot. Haven't you heard of filmmakers choosing superstition over box-office norms, all in their quest for success?

Vishal Bhardwaj is no different. We hear, the director has decided to release his Shahid Kapoor-Saif Ali Khan-Kangana Ranaut starrer Rangoon On October 2 next year. Never mind that it falls on a Sunday instead of the usual Friday when most Bollywood films see the light of day.

Why Gandhi Jayanti?

You see, Vishal's Haider opened on October 2 in 2014 and was one of the most acclaimed films of the year. After debacles like Saat Khoon Maaf and Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola, the director redeemed himself with the Hamlet adaptation. The drama even grossed over Rs. 89 crore worldwide.

Interestingly, his recent production Talvar too released on the same date this year. Now, we all know how the film received rave reviews from all quarters. Not just that, the low-budget movie has already garnered Rs. 17 crore since its release.

Following the success of two of his consecutive productions, Vishal believes that October 2 is his lucky date and feels that he'll find success with his Second World War drama if it hits the theatres on the same date.

Vishal remained unavailable for comment.
